GBBopen Project Personnel
Dan CorkillThe GBBopen Project is directed by Dr. Daniel Corkill. Dan is a Senior Research Scientist (his real job) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and he is the Associate Director of the Department's Multi-Agent Systems Laboratory. He was founder and President of Blackboard Technology Group, which specialized in GBB blackboard-system software and collaboration-technology research. At Blackboard Technology Group, he collaborated on GBB applications in many domains, including the Radarsat-I mission control system and a NASA-sponsored decision-support system to assist human operators in assessing and managing life-support-system problems associated with extended deep-space missions. Prior to forming Blackboard Technology Group, Dr. Corkill was Associate Research Professor in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts in 1983 and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska in 1975 and 1976.
